I have read mixed opinions on finasteride and whether chance of success is better or worst for diffuse Hairloss? Whether it is more effective for older men versus younger men. Diffuse tends to be a subtext for most threads where recession is he main concern.
Is a lack of success on minoxidil and RU a likely indicator propecia will fail? I would only consider topical as it scares the hell out of me. Only two years and on the borderline of showing real and obvious balding.
Anyone have any idea on this?2nd May 2018 at 12:25 am #1816
I think Propecia is not as scary as people online make it to be but it is also not a baby aspirin a day and the biggest problem I have is you are supposed to take it for life. I am more inclined to take something that may have potential side effects for 6 months to a year and be able to stop taking it after.
I have Propecia right now in case I need to take it and would most likely start at .25mg a day and go up to .50mg if needed. Also got Raloxifene because I am gyno sensitive in case I have a flare I can take this and block the estrogen receptor. For now I am sticking to what I am doing now as it is giving me results without finasteride. For me it isn’t the sexual impact it is more the long term consequence of less neuropeptides however…if .25mg is helpful then a good amount of the enzyme is left where these peptides are not hugely affected.
Anyway, i think life long drugs are not the answer, and i can’t believe that till this day they haven’t come up with a 100% cure using a DHT blocker.2nd May 2018 at 8:10 pm #1817
DHT blockers and propecia don’t work most of the time the way they are meant to, is because the cause of hair loss stems from inflammation, not DHT.
DHT buildup can cause inflammation
Other factors can cause inflammation
So you can have 10 ways that you are getting inflammation, compared to the next person, also getting hair loss, caused by 10 other ways than your ways.
This is why a natural regime is needed and what we talk about on this forum, from lifestyle, supplements and products like the Taoist soap for localized inflammation.2nd May 2018 at 10:31 pm #1820
